About Lisbon Destination Hostel: “Simply the best Lisbon hostel. Lisbon Destination Hostel played a big part in my lovely weekend of being a tourist.(…).It looked nice for sure. However I found the concept of it being inside a train station to be perplexing and intriguing. I like it when a hostel offers you lots of things to do..”

One of the best hostels of all time!

I stay at a lot of hostels and this was one of my favorites – highest praise! a solid five stars as far as hostel going is concerned.

I moved into this hostel on my third day in Lisbon, after staying two nights at the disastrous Locals Hostel and suites, and boy were my expectations exceeded! Why wasn’t I here from the start!? Staying in good accommodation is so important for getting you off on the right foot in a city, and I learned that the hard way, but for only 2-3€ more a night (and even then, considerably cheaper than average!) This was SO worth it!
Luca is amazing and so friendly. I was greeted warmly when I got there. The bedroom was extremely spacious. I would highly recommend the lower bunks… the top ones did not come with a curtain (much less cozy!!) and seemed like a little bit of a pain to climb up.
The hostel is bigger than it looks. A long hall of rooms which wraps around the upstairs of a train station. The location is amazing – right by the water – and feels both safe and convenient to loads of sight seeing. I was satisfied with both the beds and bedding and the room was huge! But a little dark in the night. There’s one piece of constructive criticism – more light in the rooms. Every bed does have its own lamp, which is great, but even with all the lights on, you can’t see what you’re doing. Unless it’s day time – the windows are huge so light is ample.
I liked the bathrooms. Clean and combined units with toilet and shower both. And enough of them that if one was being used, you could walk to another one. They aren’t stocked though, but you should have your own Toiletries! Towels are given though.
The hostel also has a rooftop bar and pool! This is amazing! Too bad it was February! They even give a free glass of wine at sunset, which is so nice, but hard to take advantage of because there’s lots to be out doing in Lisbon! It’s a great city! The atmosphere is pretty conducive to meeting other travelers. People here are friendly and happy – because why wouldn’t you be, you’re in a GREAT hostel! They also do a dinner every night for an extra €10. I didn’t try it so I don’t know if it was worth it or not. But one of the reasons I’m so impressed with the service is that one day my lunch box disappeared from the fridge, and the hostel felt so bad it happened that they have me some soup and a piece of the fish lasagna for dinner. Even though I hate when people take your stuff, boy did I appreciate that! It was actually a really well stocked kitchen on the whole, which I totally appreciated! Space to prepare your own food and a kettle and tea all day so you can have tea whenever you want.
The absolute BEST thing about this hostel was the unreal amazing breakfast! It only goes until 10:30, but you do NOT want to miss It! Crepe style pancakes with Nutella made my life! Although these are in limited supply, so hurry up and get there early – you’ll probably only get one. Also, choice of Cereals, breads with cream cheese and amazing jams (yum!) Good orange juice and tea, yougert, cheese and meat slices, fresh fruit slices (apple, orange and kiwi)… loads of variety and delicious food; you can eat until you’re full! It’s the best. The dining space is one big weird shaped table, which is really cool for meeting people, but a little too busy for breakfast time, so as long as it’s not rainy, take your food

outside and eat in the sun or at the zebra bar. Delicious food+cool outdoor space, breakfast was the best part of my stay!
I want to come back to Lisbon, and if and when I do, I will totally stay here again. Above average across the board! Food, bed comfort, safety, cleanliness, pool and outdoor space, location, and friendly, awesome staff. I can’t recommend it harder.

The best hostel I’v stayed in…

A fantastic location for all kinds of travelers, Sunset really is the ultimate in hostels for me. The great location is something to shout about, direct transport links from the airport and train station, not to mention bus routes and the metro literally outside the door of the hostel. This also means the hostel is perfect for day trips out – I highly recommend taking the train to Cas Cais, going to Coba De Roca and then onto Sintra. The staff at this hostel are some of the most down to earth and friendly I have ever had the pleasure of staying with – always happy to help, share in the laughs and welcome you into their world. It’s like staying with friends, genuinely miss them! The common kitchen is great, It’s well stocked with everything you could need for cooking, Fridge space is the perfect amount and I only had one item of food go missing in my two week stay (Thats good!). The rooftop terrace is the highly, Watching the sunset go down across the Lisbon bridge everynight with a glass of Red Wine and some friends is just amazing. I stayed here for two weeks and I cannot recommend it enough, They have a family of hostels in lisbon and your arm band allows you to go in and out of the hostels as you please. The rooms were all fantasticly high quality, Very Very big lockers under the beds, I always felt my stuff was secure and if I had any issues at all, I knew I could ask the staff.

Lisbon Best Hostel…

Grazie!

Great atmosphere + lovely hostel…

Stayed here for 4 nights on a short trip to Lisbon, didn’t expect much because of the cheap prices but pretty much everything was perfect. Every morning there’s a great breakfast with toast, jams/nutella, fruit, cereal and freshly made pancakes. The hostel rooms themselves are spacious and clean and the garden and rooftop patio are well maintained and great to hang around in. The atmosphere in this hostel is so friendly as the staff can’t do more to help! Kitchen has great facilities aswell to make your own food in. Would absolutely recommend to anyone travelling to Lisbon.
